His route was deeper than you thought, and the game allowed for something entirely unexpected.

It got stranger and more real as the days passed and you got deeper into the game. Eventually you’d tried to quit his route, but whenever you attempted to play another character, the game would glitch and send you back to the starting screen.

“I’ll sell it,” you settled, about to remove the game cartridge when it turns on.

Tengen’s character is pointing at the screen, smile the same as the artists designed, but the text is menacing.

Now, whenever he wraps his arms around you from behind in bed, he always remembers how safe you used to make him feel and hopes he does the same for you.

✿ For Nanami, whenever he visits you, it’s like coming up for air. Of course, that relief largely stems from being able to see you and spend time with you in person. But it also comes from where you live. The large, traditional house that’s been in your family for generations is truly remote, not another soul living nearby for miles. And the quiet he finds when he visits is so unlike the hustle and bustle of densely-populated Tokyo that just the peace alone is enough to lift a weight from his shoulders. 

✿ What he loves most about the silence is how it allows him to always hear you, especially in a house built of wood where every footstep causes a loud creak. After spending so much time apart, it’s comforting to have physical evidence that you’re nearby even when he can’t see you. 

✿ He always wakes up before you. The only times that you’re awake before him is if you haven’t gone to bed, which always has him giving you a look of concerned disapproval. But more often than not, you’re usually asleep beside him in your futon and he’ll easily spend the entire morning watching you sleep, relieved by how you look so peaceful -- something that’s so rare to see when you’re awake.

✿ His favorite way to pass the time when he visits is to sit with you underneath the sakura tree in the garden. He always brings a book with him when he comes -- one of the many that he’s bought but just never gotten around to actually opening. Sometimes, you’ll stretch out and lay your head in his lap as he reads but more often than not, it’s the opposite. He’s the one who likes to lay his head in your lap as you lovingly run your fingers through his hair. 

✿ And when the cherry blossoms are in bloom and he looks up at you from your lap to see the hundreds of pink flowers surrounding you as you gaze down at with so much love in your eyes and a soft smile on your lips, it truly feels like the gods have smiled down on him and decided to bless him with what he can only describe as your divine beauty.
