In hindsight, brining Marinette to a cat cafe on a date was not the best idea because though Chat could hardly blame all the cats going up and snuggling against her (he knows that irresistible pull all too well), there’s no room for him. 

“Silly kitty,” Marinette laughs at his pout, and she shifts until Chat can tuck himself warmly against her side; cats rearrange themselves around the new addition and pile themselves across their laps. “Don’t worry, you’ll always be my favourite.” 

They stay there all through the rainy afternoon, enjoying the rumbling purrs blanketing their little corner of the world.

The drink was cold, refreshing, and much too sweet, but he paid it no mind and drank like a man that had been lost in a desert for weeks delivered straight to his own personal oasis.

It wasn’t until he saw a perfectly polished leather oxford step down on the plastic, mangling the large G on its label that he looked up, catching the flash of metal followed quickly by pain and deadliest of smiles.
