Anyone with knowledge on Irish paganism?
Whether you are pagan yourself, or a lover of history, I would love to learn more about Irish paganism.
I know St Patrick came over and kicked them to the curb, but I read his church was built on sacred pagan ground. The church had to be rebuilt 17? times, some causes were fires.
I’m curious if anyone sees this as similar to Native American burial ground situations?
Also read that the fertility (crops & livestock) god worshipped on Samhain was associated with the sun and fire.
Also, if the cathedral had to be rebuilt, is the foundation in the same place or was it moved? Are there artifacts below? Is there a basement or catacombs of some sort? Did St. Patrick steal pagan items? Are they hidden away down there?
I’m genuinely interested in learning this history,
If anyone has insight, I’m all ears
