2. Is there a trope youâve yet to try your hand at, but really want to?
I really like the lovable snark type of character (e.g. Nick from Zootopia), but I canât seem to pull it off because Iâm Too Serious.
3. Is there a trope you wouldnât touch with a ten foot pole?
There will be no Dead Lesbians.
5. Share one of your strengths.
I guess Iâm pretty good at dialogue?
6. Share one of your weaknesses.
Action. Iâm bad at action. And I have a nasty habit of moralizing, as well as falling into the same narrative tropes over and over :P
7. Share a snippet from one of your favorite pieces of prose youâve written and explain why youâre proud of it.
Everything was bathed in silver starlight, which poured down from overhead in sheets and curtains, and where the world was not silver it was black, and everything grew sharper and sharper until he felt certain he was looking not at natural desert but at paper cut-outs of an arid setting in some elaborate scale-model.
This is from the one and only Dr Who fic I ever wrote, back in the far-off year of 2010, but I still love this bit because itâs just so pretty.
8. Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes youâve written and explain why youâre proud of it.
âWhat makes you think I did?â
I worked on that fucking scene about twice a week for over a month, fixing it and fixing it and fixing it until it was juuuuuuuuuust the right amount of creepy and all the characterizations lined up with Future Plans. Damn if it wasnât worth the work, though.
27. How do you feel about collaborations?
I am ..... super bad at them. Too much of a control-freak.
38. Talk about a review that made your day.
And I quote:Â âFUCK YOU, FUCK YOUR CARTOON POOLBOY HUSBAND, FUCK HIS CAT MASK AND HIS BAND OF VILLAINS, BLOCKED.â I think about that every goddamn day :â)
Thanks for asking!
