Violet hissed as Courtney kneeded the skin on her hip as gently as she could. The deep purple bruise faded slowly, eventually going from blue to a sickly greenish, her pale skin finally returning, Courtneys hands almost burning hot.
"What did they do to you? What happened?"
Sighing, Violet rested her head on the soft pillow she had been gripping. Courtney was wiping her skin down with a damp cloth, Violet no longer hissing at the slightest touch, though she was nowhere near comfortable. Courtney was an incredibly strong healer, but she always insisted on leaving just a bit of the pain behind ‘to remind you of what you did’, she’d always say. Courtney was Bianca’s pride and and joy, and Violet understood every bit of it.
"The asshole used a forcefield before I could get away. I would've been fine, but the blast of it knocked me into the corner of a building."
Courtney gasped, drying her off and moving to her elbow. She rubbed the oils and herbs into her skin, her small hands rubbing the bruises and scrapes into nonexistence.
"Damn. I'm surprised you didn't have more damage than this!"
"Me too." Violet huffed, squeezing her eyes shut as Courtney bent her arm over and over again, making sure it was fine and nothing was ripped or broken. "You should see the building, though. I gemmed as soon as I realised I was flying. There's now a good chunk of bricks missing, as well as the jerks head. I have no idea why he though challenging the pack on an open street was a good idea.”
“I’m just glad you’re okay.”
