A great documentary. It's actually sad how a bunch of fucking losers who convinced themselves they're a victim because they're uncharismatic and jobless can just take something from you and turn it into a symbol of hate. If you're an artist and you make something non-profit for the internet, you want people to like what you made and you want people to have fun with it and interpret it, that's the beauty of art, but the problem is that this gets processed through people and people fucking suck which means asstarts are going to take what you made and make things that suck.

This documentary also made me reflect on how long the internet has had a stronghold on youth culture as it relates to politics. With how things are, I thought it was a new phenomenon, but I was a baby (12 years old) in 2016 so I barely remember the significance of Pepe. I guess now because all culture is coming from the internet, it's a lot harder to deny its impact on politics. The rise of conservatism through things like trad wives, the manosphere and the popularity of commentators such as Adin Ross and Matt Walsh is too in your face for anyone with a passing interest in cultural discourse because the cons have used social media to "flood the zone with shit."
