Is it strange that alcoholics consistently possess a holier than thou attitude? Yet we wallow in filth, lethargy, destruction, thievery, misogyny/misandry, gluttony, opulence, and downright scornful judgements. This is fairly an accurate depiction of self, and observations throughout travels. The ultimate irony is that we, sufferers of extreme ego, are supposed to then start to pray, in order to connect to a new dimension, a spiritual path. Through prayer and meditation, we claim direction, living now a lifestyle of heavenly command. How do I overcome this paradox? The paradox being: my holier than though egoist perspective, replaced by a holier than though pitying yet ego less perspective? Is that the essence of faith?
