Hello friends, this is my 3,000th post on this blog which is absolutely wild. I have only been following F1 since the 2019 season, so this all escalated quite rapidly.
I just wanted to make a little post to all of you who follow me and know how much I appreciate you following this generally nonsense blog. To anyone who’s reblogged or liked anything I posted, I appreciate you. I’m a perpetual tag checker and it’s given me some good laughs. I hope that this blog has given you even a smidgen of the joy it’s brought me. Especially during the craziness and difficulty that has been 2020.
I know that this blog has also touched on some “heavy” topics and I do this out of a sense of wanting the sport and culture to be better and more inclusive. As a WOC fan, I want to see it be less dominated by white and generally male faces and reflect the diverse group I know loves the sport. And I fully acknowledge driving cars round in circles in a sport dominated by rich white men is highly problematic, but I know that it can change and grow and be better.
I try to keep my blog as a safe space for myself but also anyone who follows. We all have things we dislike and that’s totally fine! I totally have my own unpopular opinions. But unless you support something racist/xenophobic/misogynistic/transphobic/bigoted/etc. I’m here for you. I may not always have the right answers, but I’m here if you need an ear.
I hope you all are staying safe and healthy in these crazy times. Especially if you’re in the disaster that is the US like me.
