The upside of when my sister was in a very long distance relationship was that when she wasn’t visiting him, she actually had time for us.
She’s been dating this guy for about a month and we haven’t seen her since. Normally otherwise she was coming over on Sunday about every 2-3 weeks. Last week it was “too hot” for her to travel over, but meanwhile on Saturday she’d spent multiple hours outside in that same heat watching her boyfriend play recreational tennis (??).
I’m sure she thinks of it largely as a matter of whether she’ll get to come and enjoy my son or not, but it’s actually SO helpful for us to have a bit of time on a Sunday afternoon where my son is fully occupied without us needing to do anything. I really really hope she’ll make it over next week, cuz me being 39 weeks pregnant and my husband fasting plus an energetic toddler is not going to be a fun combination without any help.
