and ultimately ,  when they land on Norway ,  Earth ,  to begin a new life ,  the Asgardians disperse to start their own lives and integrate within Miðgarðr .   I guess some are disillusioned ,  some are looking to thrive in an unfamiliar environment ,  and some are giving Thor the space he needs .   but he’s left with a mere handful of people ,  Brunnhilde included ,  who want to stay for him ,  and help him get back on his feet .   

and there’s no resentment from Thor ,  either ,  on the fact that his people have left  :   he wasn’t in an incredible headspace on the journey over to Miðgarðr ,  he knows he needs to work on himself before he can lead his people again and reclaim a title of which he’s worthy .   he wants them safe ,  successful ,  and happy   -------------   and at that point ,  they will find those things elsewhere ,  albeit at the cost of detatchment from their culture  /  roots etc. 

and then ofc ,  the Snap wipes away even more ,  and Thor’s mentality truly descends   ---   leading him to overdrinking ,  overeating ,  and just making terrible ,  reckless decisions ,  ie.   picking fights ,  deliberately throwing himself into dangerous situations .
