***PRAYER CHALLENGE DAY 30*** SCRIPTURE: Ephesians 4:11-13 We all have a list of pet peeves...one of the things at the top of my list is the way our churches invite people to come, extend a time to get things right, lead them in the sinner's prayer, give'em a dunk in the holy water & leave them hanging on the ledge by their fingertips. None of us are reborn knowing what to do next or how to pray, share our story, even the importance of attending church. Babies don't arrive with a handbook or eatting meat & taking care of themselves. As parents we have to teach them! We start introducing new textures & flavors, moving on to chores & responsibilty before we push them out the door to fend for themselves. We, as God's church, are reaponsible for guiding new believers forward in Christ! I know I had no clue when I fiest bwcame a chriatian, what prayer was, how to do it & we all still have our moments where we need encouragement to make it through the day! So today as you bow before God, ask HIM to give our church the foundation of discipleship to build HIS KINGDOM. Ask HIM to start with you helping someone to understand who God really is. Dear God of ALL, I come to you today confessing that I have been guilty of leaving YOUR newborns to the wolves. Please forgive me for not following the plan YOU set up for us! Thank you for giving me truth in YOUR word that is loving & straight forward in showing me how to be more like Jesus. I praise you for the wisdom you show daily. YOUR ways are perfect! Father, YOU know how I hate that we as YOUR church have left the newly saved without guidance...GOD please help us to back up & punt. Help us to establish discipleship as the foundation of YOUR kingdom. Take the concern for numbers out of YOUR church & give us a Kingdom mindset. Start with me & fill me with the desire for you that is far beyond any demand on this earth & allow it to overflow to others. Send someone to my path that can mentor me to be more like Christ OR someone YOU want me to disciple, YOUR will, Father, not mine! ***PRAYER CHALLENGE DAY 28*** SCRIPTURE: Jeremiah 1:5 By definition the word Prophet means...one who brings messages from God. Now, those messages could be simple OR complicated. God's message to the lost & dying world is so simple even small children can understand it. So what are we waiting on? It seems like we, as christians, spend the biggest portion of our time waiting on the preacher or deacons, our Sunday school teacher to order us out of our pew. I have yet to find a place in the Bible that says we have to called into ministry, a preacher, a teacher, a deacon or anything more than a child of God to share the gospel with anyone. Today as you pray ask our Father to give you the audacity to share your story with someone today. Ask HIM to get HIS children out of our padded pews & into the world sharing HIS gospel. Ask for the privilege of noticing just one person today that needs to hear about God & the difference HE has made in your life. Father God, I come before you this morning begging for YOUR forgiveness that I have become complacent in sharing YOUR gospel. Thank you so much for forgiving me. I praise YOU, Father for your unconditional love. God, I pray that YOU give me a BOLDNESS to get up off of my padded pew in the church house & into the world sharing YOUR gospel with those who need to hear about what a change YOU have made in my life. I ask that YOU pour out on YOUR Bride an urgency to step out in faith to tell those who have ears about the life change YOU have bestowed on us each & every one. Remove ALL fear from the hearts of YOUR children & open every eye to those who need YOU. Allow YOUR kids to show YOUR glory to this dark world & allow the path to point straight to you. ***PRAYER CHALLENGE DAY 26*** SCRIPTURE: Romans 5:6 As christians it seems that we have forgotten what Christ done for us. Often when we are first saved we can't wait to tell our family, our friends or even complete strangers that we have been saved. Then we become aware of what people think. We realize that some people think we are Jesus freaks when talk about what all he has done for us. Today as you pray, ask God to remind you that HIS only son gave HIS life for you. Ask that our church step up to the label Jesus Freak. Equip us to wear these labels with a holy pride of who we belong to. Give your children thankful hearts for the gift of eternal life. Send us bold leaders who will inspire us to be on fire with the Holy Spirit & all the gifts & blessings bestowed on us. Dear Heavenly Father, I come to you today remembering that while I was yet still lost in my own sinful ways that Christ gave HIS life in my place. Thank you Father for the gift of eternal life! I praise you for the long suffering that you endure each day so that just one more person may come to know YOU through YOUR only son Jesus Christ! God, please remind us daily that we belong to YOU. Help is to wake up each day more & more BOLD in sharing the blessings you have given us. Allow YOUR church to step up to the label Jesus Freak & help that to bring a smile to our face. Open the eyes of YOUR children to those YOU place in our path daily who need to see YOU in every day life. Give us an unction from YOU to share even the smallest of blessings YOU bestow on us daily. Change the countenance of YOUR church to be that of Christ, welcoming even the little children with open arms. Send us bold leaders who will encourage & inspire us to step out to appear more like Christ every day. ***PRAYER CHALLENGE DAY 22*** SCRIPTURE: Revelation 22:17 Are you ready for the wedding? Almost 4 years ago now, we planned the best wedding ever!!! It was ours...my sons gave me away...our oldest son said a prayer over us. It was laid back...fun...no pressure. Actually there was very little stress leading up to the big day. Today when a couple gets married they feel like they have to have everything just so-so. The groom has to stand ay the perfect spot, the bride has to look all put together. Most would die IF they had seen me jump out of the back of my son's pickup...it was probably a bit over the top to wear confedetate flag boots with my wedding dress BUT O well. One day soon there is gonna be a wedding the likes we have never seen. The only way you get to go to the wedding is to have answered the call of the Holy Spirit. God wants us ALL to be at the wedding feast! That's why HE gave us ears to hear. Today as you pray, ask God to tune the ears of the lost to hear the drawing of the Holy Spirit, ask HIM to create a thirst in our church for sharing the Gospel with lost souls. Ask HIM to allow you to thirst for the lost to come to him. Dear Father God, I come to you today thanking you for answered prayers. I praise you Father for being the GREAT PHYSICIAN! I ask you Lord that you help our church to thirst for lost souls to be brought to your house. Help YOUR church to extend the invitation to the wedding feast to those who don't know the groom especially. Give me, as YOUR child a thirst to share the Gospel with others & a desire to see lost souls come to YOU that can NOT be quenched. I pray that you soften the hearts of lost souls that I may meet today & allow them to be receptive of YOUR grace & mercy. ***PRAYER CHALLENGE DAY 21*** SCRIPTURE: Luke 15:11-32 There are times in life where people often turn away from their faith & God for any & every reason. Just like in the Parable of the Prodigal son, God (the Father) never moves. HE doesn't change HIS phone number...HIS e-mail or any way of contact. HE simply waits for us to wake up in the pig pen & remember to whom we belong. When we finally come home smelling foul & being dirty HE is still overjoyed & gives us a feast!!! After spending some time in the pig slop before coming back home, I pray today that anyone who has walked away will come back home. Those who find themselves away from God & missing the relationship, I pray that they start down the road that will take them home. Today is a good day to pray & ask God to remind our church of the feast our Father threw when we came home. Dear Father in Heaven, Thank you for giving me the best when I deserved the worst! I know that I can be judgemental & jealous at times & I ask for your forgiveness. I praise you God for the love you are that NEVER runs out. Lord, please help me to share the story that led me home so that others who have wandered away will be able to find their way back to you. I come & ask that YOU lead your children to the road back home. Soften their heart & give the strength to take that first step on the road that leads back to you. Help YOUR church to rush out to great your prodigal children with loving kisses & open arms. Remind us today of the feast you threw for us when we came back home so that we never forget. Equip YOUR church to love people right where they are, dirty" smelly & covered in pig slop. Send us to the path of prodigals with hearts full of love, mercy & respect. As I come to you asking for change I beg you to start with me, help me to see this world as YOU do. ***PRAYER CHALLENGE DAY 18*** SCRIPTURE: Luke 15:1-7 This scripture reminds us that we are valuable to God! There are days when we do not feel very valuable for one reason or another. No matter how we feel God finds great value in us...so much so that HE sent HIS only son to rescue us from ourself. It only takes ONE lost soul to make heaven rejoice...let that sink in for a couple minutes. As you take your worries & cares to God, ask God to place in you the very same feeling that heaven has when ONE soul comes to him. Ask HIM to allow us to be addicted to lost souls coming to Christ! Equip our church with a passion to pray for, witness to, seek out, & rejoice over ONE lost sheep! Father God in Heaven, I come to you today confessing that I don't rejoice as I should when one sheep comes home or one is returned to the fold. Forgive me when I'm not as excited over one sheep as I get over a football game. Thank you for sending your son to rescue me! I praise you God for being Savior for us all. I ask you Father to give me a heart that finds more reason to rejoice in lost sheep than any earthly sport. Set a fire in our church to leave the flock to rescue one lost sheep. Help us as your children to see every soul as a prized lamb. Give your children a desire to see lost sheep come home that is greater than any demand we may have on this earth. Please start this fire in me!! ***PRAYER CHALLENGE DAY 15*** SCRIPTURE: Romans 15:5-6 Having the same attitude as Christ...can we even imagine what this world would be like IF we ALL had a Christ-like attitude?!? What if just those who go to church with you had an attitude like Christ? Even if it was just one single church with this attitude it would spill over into other places! Now think about how different life would be if only YOU had a Christ-like attitude...how would your life be differnt, how would your family be different, what about work? As you approach the throne of God today ask HIM to give you a Christ-like attitude. Ask HIM to create in you a clean heart & purify your mind. To allow you to see others as Christ does. Pray that our church adopts a Christ-like attitude toward each other & for us to become completelg like Christ to this cruel & wicked world. Dear Lord, I come to you this morning confessing that my attitude stinks sometimes, especially this time of day. Forgive me when I behave like less than you created me to be OR less than Christ. Thank you for waking me up! I praise you for your unconditional love which is my FAVORITE quality of yours! Please cleanse my heart & purify my mind, help me to focus ONLY on Kingdom things to renew my mind, my spirit & my faith. Allow me to see all of your creation with your eyes rather than my dim earthly eyes. Ignite a passion for a Christ-like attitude within YOUR church, Father. Give each part of your body a desire for your presence that is greater than any earthly demand. ***PRAYER CHALLENGE DAY 13*** SCRIPTURE: Acts 5:42 Is it a lost art going door to door to tell others about Christ? Are we afraid that someone might slam the door in your face? My grandmother used to say, "Well, they can't eat you." Today...as a child of God that translates to "They can't kill me!"...I mean I do have eternal life, right!?! So what's the hold up? The apostles faced death as they told others of the things they had seen Jesus do. In some places in the world today missionaries face the same BUT here in the US we aren't normally imprisoned, beaten or killed for telling what we have seen Christ do. Yet, we most often sit on our padded pews on Sunday with our face not showing how truly blessed we are to be able to gather & worship freely. So today let's pray that God empowers our church with the boldness to go out & tell others about HIS work in our lives & that we as the body of Christ do less planning & more acting to HIS honor & glory. Lord God, I come to you this morning confessing that I often simply sit & wait rather than hit the ground running each day to tell others about you. Please forgive me Father for taking you for granted. Thank you for allowing me to be born in a place where I am able to go door to door & share the gospel without fear of going to jail, being beaten or killed for it. I praise you Lord on high for your amazing grace & infinite mercy. I ask that you give our church a call to action going door to door OR by any means necessary to go out & tell others about you. Equip your children with supernatural energy & desire to go into the world to show them you, teaching them who you are & pointing them to the cross. Place bold leaders in our church to guide our steps in your will. Help us to encourage ALL our brothers & sisters in Christ to share your word. God I ask that as you stir our church, community & nation that you use me in anyway to plant seeds for your harvest! Help me to be brave!
