I debated if I wanted to share this on here or not, and obviously decided to do so. Two years ago today, August 23rd, 2020, @ 1 am I had to call 911 because my family's home of 27 years was on fire. Me, my mom and daughter barely made it out safely. Not only did we lose our home, the only home I ever had, we lost our 6 pets and my dad and brother as well. I only have one picture and one short four second video from that early Sunday morning. We stood in the parking lot of the football field the next block up and watched the fire from a little after 1 until 7 am. The cause of the fire was ruled "undetermined" by the fire chief, the head detective, and whomever else was a part of the investigation. Thankfully, none of the ones we lost that day were unrecognizable. All 6 pets were identified and recovered for cremation. We also had my dad and brother cremated. The next 3 months we lived in a hotel room at the Holiday Inn in my town. In November of 2020, mine and my brothers birth month, we got a new house, moved the very little amount of items we had into it, and tried to figure out life. I did counseling the following March for 13 weeks and it taught me a lot. I've only showed this pic and the video to a couple of people prior to today. It feels healing in a sense to be so vulnerable about something this tragic and personal for me.
