And I mean that specifically in a shipping way.

Because that trailer?

"I'm counting on you, Inoue."

"I can finally stand/fight with Kurosaki-kun!"*

*I'm paraphrasing here

On the surface, it sounds like a shippers greatest dream! Add the second of Inoue seemingly blocking Ygwach's attack, and I'm betting a lot of Ichihime shippers will come out of the woodwork and scream about this.

And it's wrong.

Because we know how this ends.

We know what's going to happen in that fight.

Kubo hasn't changed shit about his ending, We Know!

Or have people forgotten that Orihime fails? That Ichigo uses her shield as a distraction to 'wake up' his hollow half, then relies on her once, and she fails?

Because Yhwach set all of that up?

And that she fails later, again, when she can't fix Tensa Zangetsu? When Tsukishima of all people has to step in and do it For her?

How about Ichigo leaving her behind after this, not speaking or fighting with her again the rest of the Arc and then we get the time skip?

(Why is he even saying he'll rely on her? Did everyone forget what Quilge did to her shield? Why is Inoue here?)

Don't get me wrong:

- the animation looks great

- the Toshiro scene is coming

- the Kenpachi/Byakuya/Toshiro fight is going to be great

- we got Aizen's iconic scene from the manga and his and Ichigo's team up is one of the few highlights of this Arc (in my opinion)

There are reasons to watch this last Arc and I will probably find a way to do so.

But this?

This forced focus on this doomed not-relationship, is a tragedy.

It shouldn't have been in there, in my opinion, and all its going to do is make ichihime shippers more rabid about their ship. Which, in my experience, usually aren't great anyway.

So yeah, the trailer looks cool.
