Headcannon for twojamie, that is drawn from in period typical 18th century homophobia: Jamie has internalised homophobia (homosexual acts punishable by death in Britain were illegal for 300 years up until the 1830s).
Comphet Jamie joins the tardis not even possibly knowing and learns so much about the universe and himself and slowly learns he's in love with two after the utter shame and sadness he'd have to go through to accept himself.
(I could do a whole essay on queer themes of doctor who Jamie being especially interesting)
