Summary: Hollis and y/n have known each other since childhood and even had an on and off situationship all throughout high school, but that quickly ended once the friend group found out and her twin Brother Roman wasn’t so happy about it. Shortly after graduation, y/n moved to New York to attend college and pursue modeling and dance. But once she finished school y/n decided to move back to LA so she can be closer to family but also to help her get better opportunities for her career. But when she finally reconnects with Hollis she realizes some feelings may not have been left behind in high school.

Chapter 001

Summary: Hollis and y/n have known each other since childhood and even had an on and off situationship all throughout high school, but that quickly ended once the friend group found out and her twin Brother Roman wasn’t so happy about it. Shortly after graduation, y/n moved to New York to attend college and pursue modeling and dance. But once she finished school y/n decided to move back to LA so she can be closer to family but also to help her get better opportunities for her career. But when she finally reconnects with Hollis she realizes some feelings may not have been left behind in high school.

It was a decently warm day when you exited the airport, a cool breeze hitting your face as you made your way to the Uber you had ordered earlier. After placing your bags in the trunk, you slid into the backseat and pulled out your phone to send your friends a message.

For some reason, walking up to Roman’s door sent a strange mix of nerves and nostalgia down your spine.

The truth was, you hadn’t seen him in nearly two years. He had always been busy with his modeling career, and then his music career took off, while you were buried in college work and your internship at a dance studio. The two of you hadn’t really talked much, just the occasional FaceTime call to catch each other up on anything major that had happened.

But at the end of the day, you missed your brother, and moving back to L.A. was probably the best decision you’d made in a while. Even if you’d have to sit through the awkward “don’t fuck my best friend” talk, you were still glad you moved.

You knocked lightly on his door, and after a few seconds, you heard the click of a lock as it slowly opened. When it finally did, and you saw Roman standing there, and you almost got emotional from how long it had been.

“Hey loser” you said, giving him a slight nudge on the shoulder.

He didn’t waste a second before pulling you into a tight hug, squeezing you so hard you could barely breathe.

“I missed you so much, Y/N,” Roman said as he finally let you go, leaning down to grab two of your bags.

“Whoa, where’d your nonchalant act go?”

“Shut up. I haven’t seen you in years god forbid I miss my twin,” he said, turning and walking back into the house.

“I guess I missed you too,” you added, grabbing the last of your suitcases and following him inside.

The apartment was surprisingly clean. There was a subtle mix of smoke and vanilla in the air, along with a scent you recognized most of all. When you stepped into the living room, you realized why.

“Y/N!” Hollis said excitedly, standing up to greet you.

“Oh my God, Hollis!” you said, walking over and pulling him into a small hug.

“Nope.”

You heard Roman’s voice cut in as he immediately stepped forward, prying you and Hollis apart.

“Yo, what the hell? Am I not allowed to hug my friend that I haven’t seen in almost two years?” you asked, shooting Roman a look.

“No, you’re not allowed to hug the guy you were secretly messing around with all throughout high school,” Roman said, dropping into one of the chairs. “I don’t trust either of you.”

“Roman, are you serious? You know it’s not like that anymore,” Hollis said, sitting down on the couch beside him and taking a sip of his drink.

“Great. I don’t care. I still don’t trust either of you.”

“Roman, can you show me where I can put my stuff?” you asked, trying to steer the conversation away from you and Hollis.

“Yeah, follow me,” Roman said, standing up and giving Hollis one last look before heading down the hallway.

The room wasn’t anything special, it was clearly a spare room Roman had never really touched. A queen sized bed sat against the wall, a window letting in soft light, a decent sized closet, and a desk tucked into one corner.

“Here you are,” he said, setting your bags down on the bed. “Me and Hollis were just about to grab some food. You wanna come?”

“What kind of question is that? Of course I wanna come.” you say excitedly

Before you know it you, roman, and hollis are walking to the nearest fast food restaurant. It felt nice being with them again, like nothing had changed, like you hadn't just spent 5 years halfway across the country.
