Does the Monday blue always bring you with overwhelming feelings of depression?

Maybe picking up a nice coffee can wipe out your anxiety and make you full of energy. 

Today I am going to introduce Louisa Coffee, a relatively new coffeehouse chain known for its inexpensive but high-quality beverages in Taiwan.

The first Louisa Coffee was opened in 2006. It has expanded more than 100 branch operations in Taiwan for the decade.

The origin

In 2003, the founder found that a nice cup of coffee cost more than 100 NTD in Taiwan while good coffee with cheap price was everywhere in Europe and America; hence, the founder collected information and conducted couples of researches to figure out how to provide clients with brilliant but inexpensive coffee.    

Through countless failures and adjustments, Louisa Coffee Classic Expresso Blend ultimately come out in 2007.

The menu

A variety of beverages are provided in Louisa. There are more than 50 choices for you and each of them cost you less than 100 NTD. No matter you are a coffeeholic or a tea pot, I bet you can find your favorite drink in Louisa.

Besides, if you think having some snacks is a must while enjoying a beverage, Louisa can definite meet your need. There are bagels, sandwiches, and cakes that satisfy your appetite.

The Tokyo Marathon is usually held on the last Sunday of February. Two main groups are set for participants: one is 42.195 kilometers marathon and the other is 10 kilometers run which is for those who have certain body conditions, such as the blind, and the disabled.

Some cosplay as adorable characters of Japanese cartoons or comic books while some cosplay to show their own cultures or histories.

 In spring, you cannot merely view the cherry blossom in Japan but also get involved in the Tokyo Marathon to cheer for those persistent runners.

Or you can give it a try to challenge yourself.

When it comes to night scene in Taipei, what is the first place that appear in your mind?

The locals may say Maokong.

Being located in the hills that surround Taipei City, Maokong is famous for its tea and night view. People can spend leisure time having tea here and appreciating the nigh view at the same time. The moderate temperature and the gentle breezes make people feel cozy and comfortable.

Maokong was formerly the largest area of the tea growing in Taipei. 

However, tea producers decided to open tea houses to host travelers in around 1989 instead of producing tea only; hence the amount of tea growing here has gradually declined.

You can still see some tea fields here, and most of the tea is Tieguanyin. 

When you are planning a visit to Maokong, don’t forget to put a gondola ride into your to-do list.

  Have you ever visited Chung Yuan night market located in Taoyuan, Taiwan? It is famous for its small eats and inexpensive clothing stores.

But you may not know that there are so many coffee shops worth visiting. Every café has its own unique style. I hope you won’t miss any of them.

Today I am going to introduce a small one. Its name is Quliulang in Chinese, meaning go a wandering. Although it is located in the corner of a community, which makes it unnoticeable, clients come here over and over again due to its tasty desserts and comfortable atmosphere.

Desserts

Quliulang usually provides clients with 4 or 5 types cakes every day with a limited supply. It uses fresh ingredients and Taiwan fruits with good quality to make cakes, which allows you to eat healthy. Moreover, the cakes that are sweet but not that sweet are suitable for everyone.

【Taipei Beimen Post Office】

Near Taipei Main Station, there is an old building standing here.This is Taipei Beimen Post Office, which has been listed as a third-marked historic site since 1992.

It was built with wood in 1889 in the Japanese colonial period for military postal service. Beimen Post Office was extended for running a large-scale operation in 1928. At that time, due to the rise of modern architecture, the Japanese architecture combined the modern style with the new post office, making the building more simplified and functional. Moreover, the walls were covered with the light brown tiles which were produced in Beitou. It was the color that was considered a function of protection from air attack.

Nowadays in Beimen Post Office, people can enjoy not only the old style of the building but also the exhibitions held in the 2nd floor.Next time when you visit Taipei, don’t forget to stop by Beimen Post Office. You can appreciate the old building and have your postcards sent to your family and friends from one of the oldest post office in Taiwan.
