#2b thoughts

It’s very interesting what was left out of the various 2b promos. There was little if anything, touching on the Bex-Bowie-Miranda mess, the big basketball game in the finale, and Cyrus coming out to Jonah and revealing his crush on him. 

I noticed that the shorter promos don’t focus very much on Buffy except for the early eps in which it looks like she’s moving. I think this is Disney trying to make it look like she actually is moving. But surely even young children have seen enough TV already to know that main character’s don’t move away so I think that there’s another twist coming in Buffy’s story line, most likely related to her ‘crush’.

The promos heavily focus on J*ndi, which is probably the most popular ship among the show’s target audience. I’m not surprised that we’re seeing cute moments of them, it’s hard to have a triangle if the audience doesn’t buy that either option would work.  Still, I think that 2a would have been better if they had more cute moments before the problems crept in and Walker appears rather than have nothing but drama until they get cute moments just before they break up for good.

The Disney go promo shows Jonah at the spoon with Andi and he’s covered by the heart eyes emoji just like his choir photo. 

I’m curious to see what Cyrus and Jonah moments there will be before Cyrus comes out to him. I also wonder if we’ll see any jealousy at all from Cyrus while Jonah and Andi are officially dating.

A bit more focus on Amber. I think part of the reason the show put her redemption arc on hold for so long is because they wanted to explore the effects her toxic behaviour had on Jonah and that will likely come about when Jonah is in therapy. Also since Jonah will be in high school next season, it would be good if they were friends so someone would be able to support Jonah at school.

Interesting that the Disney go promo featured the Cyrus and TJ chest bump. As I’ve noted before, it’s significant that TJ’s isn’t being linked with Buffy anymore like he was in all the 2a promos. 

I think the Tyrus chest bump and the J*ndi trampoline date are in the same ep which is probably 2x22 in production order (may be 2x21 in airing order). It will be interesting to compare and contrast what happens between both pairings.

It’s hard for me to imagine how Andi will go from having fun with Walker in 2x18 (airing order), to kissing Jonah in 2x19 and holding hands while trampolining in 2x21 to hanging with Walker at his art show before being caught by Jonah in 2x23. Messy doesn’t even begin to describe it but I’m sure Terri has something up her sleeve that will make it all enjoyable to watch at least.

Looks like the Buffy moving story line won’t be resolved until 2x16

Bowie teaches Jonah guitar in 2x16 so either Bowie finds out about Jonah’s panic attacks before the GHC or Jonah starts learning guitar for another reason initially

The power outage explains the dim lighting in the game board scene. I wonder what revelations will occur. It seems too early for the GHC to know about Jonah’s panic attacks so perhaps it’s something else that sets Jonah off. Maybe there’s a callback to S1 when Cyrus accidentally convinced Jonah to get back together with Amber, or they again bring up that Amber was cheating on Jonah

Man is 2b gonna be messy. Andi has a fun day with Walker in 2x19 and then in most likely the very next episode kisses Jonah, then a few eps later hangs again with Walker at his art show where Jonah catches them together! 

I wonder if 2b will see Andi not liking labels while Jonah desperately attempts to cling to the boyfriend label

TJ’s off the team because of his math grades, although it will only be temporary as we know he’s back on the team for the big game in the finale

This is his rock bottom and probably the point in which Cyrus begins to encourage him to seek help as I imagine that Buffy will have (rightfully) washed her hands of him by this point

Cyrus might let slip that he told TJ how to manipulate Buffy which would explain their argument (I’m assuming it’s this ep since Buffy is wearing the basketball sweater)

Also why hasn’t his math teacher brought up the possibility of a learning disability? Surely TJ isn’t the only student at the school who has one

This would also be the time for TJ to let slip about Jonah’s panic attack, which is interesting timing right before Jonah’s big music show in 2x20

That Buffy ‘steps up’ is interesting. Suggests that she wasn’t appointed as captain by the coach. In a way that makes sense since Buffy has barely been able to play so the coach hasn’t seen much of her talent 

Speaking of, I really hope that coach apologizes for idly standing by this whole season while it’s been obvious that the team was conspiring to prevent her from getting the ball
