This has come up on my @timehop today very conveniently for throwback Thursday. Felix and Amelie have always been best little mates. She’s pictured here wearing the outfit that Felix came home in when he was born. She was nearly 5 months old and Felix’s newborn outfit was still too big for her. She’d already spent so much time in hospital and we’d nearly lost her in the January. So this picture is all the more precious. I’m so proud of my girls for all they’ve accomplished already. Felix was so gentle with them when they finally came home after their initial 11 weeks in hospital. He’s not quite so gentle these days 😆 And his sisters wouldn’t have it any other way. Maya-Albertine says Wow 😁 As a parent to a premature baby who has been poorly, I feel amazed by every milestone they reach. Maya-Albertine, or Bertie as we call her, has overcome so much already. She had emergency heart surgery nearly a year ago which impacted significantly on her physical development. But she’s catching up. To see her pottering about with her sisters and just so happy to play melts my heart. To hear her say wow whilst riding her police bike 😋 is incredible to me and makes me very proud. Little Maya enjoying the bubbles with her sisters: her face 😍 The girls are in coordinating dresses today rather than matching. I didn’t really have much of an opinion before they were born about whether we’d always match their clothes or not. For a few weeks we’d been told we we were having a boy and two girls. But when they were born we had lots of lovely matching clothes gifted to us. They look super cute in matching and I got a bit addicted to it as have other multiple mummies I know. To me it’s a celebration of them being triplets. To be a triplet is something really special. I know they’re all individuals too and they really do have their own characters. Something I hadn’t thought about, but other Triplet mummies have told me, is that their children haven’t wanted to be treated differently or think that their sibling has the better outfit. So, for that reason the children like being in the same outfit so they feel equal. Until you have multiples you don’t even think about how these things work! Apparently it’s much easier to spot them when you’re out and about too.
