I rushed back over to question four and read the answer choices again. Stuff, stuff, stuff. Detail, detail, detail. Rubbish, rubbish, rubbish. Wait… what did I read again? Actually, what was the question again?
Dear Martha, Chapter 9
My elevator pitch for my ADHD novel is coming in two days...I don’t know whether to feel excited, scared, or stupid.
Hey, at least I did something?
Big mood of my 20Time Project.

A few days ago, I decided to rewrite my entire story because right after I began reading The Kite Runner (highly recommend), for the first time, I finally understood what my teacher meant by “show, and not tell.”
So I scrapped my 14,000 words draft and came up with a loose plot. Now I can’t spoil the entire plot, but I can tell y’all that there is multiple things happening at once (just like my real life).
And with a plot diagram drawn, I feel a lot better because I know for certain both my direction and end goal.
Now, the only problem is that I have to write 21,000 words in a month. Even though I can’t make promises, I think I’m going to try to write 1000 words every day (~5 pages, double spaced). There’s a very high likelihood that I’ll be distracted by my college apps, but I’ll try!

It’s been a while since I made an update but here it is!
So after reading “The Perks Of Being A Wallflower”, I think it really helped me get my thought process going. One of my favorite things about that book is the way the book is divided up into four different parts, each seemingly denoting a certain time period with varying aspects. And this got me thinking: even though my book “technically” doesn’t have a plot, I could still give it a “plot.” But instead of making it very obvious, I want to make it kind of subtle.
I guess what I’m trying to say is that for my story, I want to let the tone of the story work as the plotline. Obviously I can’t spoil the details because it won’t be any fun, but I think it would be an interesting idea to make it so that the plotline of my story resembles that of a “V”, where in the beginning, the tone heads in a negative direction while later on, after the climax or “breaking point”, the tone shifts and move in a more positive direction.
Now I know human emotions are linear, especially for a person with ADHD like me whose mood is constantly changing, but I think this is going to be the general storyline trend.
Anyhow, I’m posting this on tumblr for a reason--to have your thoughts! So if you’re reading this and you have something to say--suggestions, ideas, critiques--my ears are all open! Feel free to message me and help me improve my writing! Thanks guys!

Welp. I just wrote a chapter dedicated to physics and the theory of relativity.
Bravo.
If I ever publish a book, I’m definitely going to make a playlist just for my book.
