Weāre back with AA the frog hater.Ā
Destroying amphibious iconography feels like a very DerseĀ move, and theĀ Horrorterrors are aligned with that planet...
AA: did you set up the teams TA: still working on it but yeah more or less. TA: we should all be playing soon. TA: and i guess leaving this dimension. TA: that is what happens, right?? AA: yes
AA is the one who unearthed Sburbās source code, and Sollux seems to defer to her knowledge about what it actually does. His āvisionsā are only giving him half-truths, distorted by his own psyche, and I donāt think heās clued in at all. It sounds like the only reason heās part of this is because AA needed someone who could code.
Iāve spent all of Hivebent keeping an eye out for Skaianet, but they donāt exist here. AA is the one running the show, and sheās doing so alone in a cave. Plus, sheās clearly being manipulated herself.Ā
NoneĀ of the trolls are in control of this session. No wonder things went so pear-shaped.
TA: so i guess you should be pretty happy when we finally get out of here? AA: i dont know about that TA: oh. TA: will you at least be able two leave the voices behind? AA: i dont know about that either
I think the voices are coming from inside the session, Sollux. AA wonāt escape them by following their orders.Ā
AA: im ok with it AA: im ok with a lot of things AA: even our inevitable failure AA: though it will briefly masquerade as victory TA: wow FUCK.
AA has already been briefed on whatās going to go down. She knows what we know - that the trolls will complete their session, but will fall, somehow, at the last hurdle.Ā
And she doesnāt care.Ā
TA: terezi was right, you are such a drag two talk two these days. AA: she was right about a lot of things TA: wow what a mysterious thing two say, i am so intrigued.
I called AA an unwitting pawn, but I think I spoke too soon. When she said she didnāt know what she was doing, what I thought she meant was: āIām choosing to act on my own random whims.ā
This is pretty clearly not the case. AA knows about the voices, so she knows these arenāt her whims. Sheās perfectly aware that sheās enacting a plan that will end in failure, and she still doesn't hesitate.Ā Sheās the most clued-in of all the trolls weāve seen so far, but she still recklessly presses on, advancing someone elseās agenda, assuming there must be a reason sheās doing this - even though no oneās bothered to explain it it to her.Ā
AA knows sheās a pawn, and is perfectly 0k with it. I think her manipulators have been messing with her head for a long time.Ā
