Saint La Salle and Me
Saint John Baptist De La Salle was born at Reims in a wealthy family. He was a person of high importance in the ministry of God for he was a man of devout faith and prayer and he was the founder of the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools. One of La Salle’s key components for growing as a person was prayer; for me, experience was my key component in my own growth - for experience helps one to truly know between right and wrong through your trial and errors. There was also a thought that went through over people’s heads is on why La Salle highly regarded Mary. My take on answering that question is because of Mary’s pure love and devotion to Jesus lest knowing her duty of being entrusted the fate of the Son of God, having to endure so much pain and sacrifice. Well let’s have a bit about my life that I want to share to you all. One of the key moments in my life where I had to make a decision that would have a major impact on my life was whether I should or shouldn’t enroll in La Salle as a grade 7 student. It was a tough choice for me to having to break the status quo between all the friends I made in my old school for attaining a higher degree of education; in the end, I finally came to the conclusion of choosing to enroll in La Salle due to the opportunity cost of a higher degree of education, meaning a better chance of earning myself a higher position in the work industry. Going back, for the past century, the ministry of God was having an epiphany of multiple clergymen abusing their power and position for their own good, yet La Salle remained true by never straying away from the path of God. We should always follow the example of La Salle by living with piety and humbleness so that we can carefully analyze between what’s right and what’s not. And lastly, any legacy or remembrance I can leave off in the world would have little to no importance in this world, considering how vastly populated our planet Earth is, yet we should always continue to do the best to make our lives worth in the eyes of God with not omitting sins that may greatly displease him and living a spiritual life away from the devil.
