The Gardener of Love
You told me yesterday
you have stopped watering a dead plant
And I told you that is fine
because I deeply know it to be true.
For me I know our love never reached bloom.
As far as I know my seed was planted in a soil of malnourishment in you.
Though I ought not to be bitter of my love for you.
I did like that soil of yours.
It felt like home.
But ones I had planted my feelings in you.
The soil did not matter no more.
And neither did the seed.
Since I was planted in a pot that was already taken, by two other trees.
When I noticed them,
I stopped the sprouts.
I Painted myself in orbit.
Where I saw you in your true light.
You are the gardener of love.
For you, I was just another rose in your garden.
And for me, you were my only soil.
As for my orbit and I we fled for half a year.
Soil-free seed living pot free.
It was around that time I realised my love for you was never enough.
You could have never met me down there where I had you.
There in the deep tissues of my heart.
Though you told me you would.
Yet, you never did.
I kept you there regardless.
Went on with my life,
Marked my words,
Went to school,
Pretended I was just a fool.
Until you caught me in that new years party.
I admitted my love for you.
Into a new decade we held hands,
There I transformed from a seed to this young plant.
Still, that malnourishment of yours kept me on my toes.
I’d reach for air while swimming in deep love.
But every time I would reach the sky,
You would go home with another guy.
I was just about ready to blossom.
For a gardener so unwholesome.
I told you one day I would move with you.
Foolishly I thought I was the one, for ones.
But you had your mind made up.
To move over oceans in only 3 months.
So I grew tired of this story.
Took my roots and walked away.
Without you even noticing me.
Since you were busy watering another me.
