You could walk out on us, I can walk out on a stupid play. (1 of 2)
It’s time for Robert’s play. Jack appreciates Sarah asking him to come (he is his son too) and Robert doesn’t know he’ll be there. Robert’s playing Sir Galahad 💕. It appears Robert is getting stage fright.
Jack: I can’t wait.
Robert: It’ll have to. I’m not doing it.
Jack: What do you mean?
Robert: There’s hundreds of people.
Alice: I’m coming Robert.
Robert: I can’t do it.
Robert’s feeling stupid, fearing not remembering his lines. Jack gives Robert a pep talk that he’ll do fine.
Jack: It means a lot to me, come to see you do this.
Robert: You could walk out on us, I can walk out on a stupid play.
Jack: I wouldn’t advice it. You’ll only end up feeling as rotten as I do.

So why don’t we have another go.
Looks like Robert’s play was a smash, Alice liked Robert the best. Sarah commenting he was word perfect (way to go Robert!). After Kathy and Alice leave, it’s awkward between Jack and Sarah until a very happy Robert shows up. They heap praise on him. Robert wants Jack to come back with them for tea. Sarah allows it.
Jack: Hey, well done mate!
Sarah: Everybody thought you were wonderful.
Robert: Get lost.
Sarah: A star is born.
Back home. Jack and Robert are watching telly (well Jack is, Robert has fallen asleep on the sofa). Sarah gifts Jack with the figurines since he had wanted them and not something to have had a falling over for.
Jack: We could put them on the mantelpiece here. Have both look at them.
Sarah: I knew this would happen...
Jack: So why don’t we have another go. It has been a special day, hasn’t it?
Sarah: Yes, yes it has.
Jack: Oh for heaven sake. I just want to be with you.
Sarah: Jack, it was special because of Robert’s play. How are you going to feel on an ordinary February day when this just isn’t enough for you.
Jack: It is. I know that now.
Sarah: Well I don’t know.
