i love that dennis christopher felt that touch was an important aspect of eddie’s character because that’s just,,,oh my god i love it so much cause it’s not just with richie y’know? in the miniseries he’s so close with beverley and you can tell in the way he interacts with her. there’s the scene where him and bev are on the couch together with his arm around her and her head on his shoulder and it looks so natural for them like that’s just how they’re meant to be? there’s no romantic tension with them he just actually loves her as his friend and feels the need to express that by allowing himself to be comfortable with her touch. she notices that when they’re kids when he’s getting all worked up about her being touchy with richie and immediately shifts to showing him the same affection. i love eddie sm and i especially love how dennis christopher portrayed eddie in the miniseries. it means so much to me i could never fully explain it
