#1967impala

For those who know me you'll know it's been a very rough year for me. I am trying to come to terms with the loss of my Dad and made decisions with the sick hope that it'll bring him back. I know nothing will bring him back and I can't run from everything that hurts. I need to face it head on and learn to move on. Me trying to sell this car was one of those stupid decisions. Me feeling "relieved" at the thought of this car being sold was not true, it hurt every time I thought of this car leaving me. My Dad was so proud of this car and so proud of me for getting it. Yeah he wished I had waited until I was more financially sound but he was proud of me because I bought this for myself but more importantly for us. He is gone but my car isn't. This car is still mine and will remain mine. I won't give up because it's hard or because it's the easy way out. No I will fight and keep this car. Because this is more than just a car. I've said it before and I will scream it until my lungs give out. This will always be more than just a car. So this car is off the market. Chuck will ride again. Hey Leroy, Your Mama's Callin' You - Jimmy Castor ‎(Hey Leroy, 1967)

A 1967 Chevy Impala. I love those old American wrecks!  The radio didn’t work but the engine did. I named it: “Riff Raff”. One time at a Peace And Freedom conference up in Northern California. I slept in the back snuggled in my sleeping bag. I heard an owl hooting and a coyote howling in the hills. Outside my station wagon windows I saw a million stars in the night sky. Riff Raff and I went everywhere with each other. I miss the old boy.
