Very very good Pluribus this week. Pretty much entirely operating on strong emotions and good performances. Hivemind's back but a more level headed Carol is just able to spend time with them, and particularly with Zosia. Learning about the individuals behind them, how they function as a community, and maybe even getting a little frisky with it. It was all just very deliberate in a way this show is good at being, and we're at a point where Carol the flawed good guy is really compelling. I'm expecting some friction though, Carol is at her cosiest with the hivemind yet but Manousos is about to appear. Sure, their goals are aligned - but I'm certainly expecting some conflict from their opposing philosophies. I did just look it up to be sure that next episode is the last one and that's indeed true, but also said episode is airing earlier than expected which is nice. Hopefully season 2 wait afterwards isn't too long, cause I do in fact like this show.

+ a comment from David Sneddon:
My voucher I got from being a good kfc cuck paid out today, I had 213 things I could redeem it for and I chose eshop voucher and then finally bought Yohane game and the one Gunvolt game I don't own. Kind of peak.

What is the thing that was stolen from you that you are most bitter about?
If a younger me gave something away and regretted it later does that count as stealing. Can I say my past self stole from my future self. Because truthfully I can't think of any like actual physical goods I've had stolen from me. Or no that's not true my older brother stole some of my Wii games to pawn them off for money when I was a kid, because he's a fucking piece of shit. Yeah that's my answer. It was shit I'd definitely notice and miss too, but hey the selfish prick needed money to buy weed or whatever the fuck he was doing as a 14 year old that apparently justified stealing the personal belongings of your kid brother. Absolute fucking dickhead.
What a genuine fall-off this show was. Strongest premier of the season and one of the strongest of the year, but as it kept going it just kept losing me more and more. I barely had a handle on the character motivations by the end of it because so much time is spent meandering through the plot beats that the characters themselves forget what they're even there for. Yagiuda had a cool introduction as an intimidating villain and then just stands around doing nothing. Oshibu is like our overarching antagonist and just harasses us for a bit and then is chill again like a villain of the week. School director lady shows up, says she'll train Sanda, vanishes. The lessons she imparts on him are that he needs to beat up children, so he just doesn't do that. Stands and gets shot by class 10 girl for like 3 episodes straight. Like I could keep going, it's one of those things where so much happens and yet it's completely uneventful. I also just think a lot of the mechanics of aging in this setting hurt what it wants to say thematically, how the fuck is this narrative enhanced by the kids don't sleep thing? Why do we have incredibly advanced plastic surgery for everything except hands? I can't take commentary on the nature of idolisation of youth seriously when you change the specifics so strongly. Exaggerate them, sure, that's the nature of fiction - but these rules you've introduced just twist and obfuscate things to no gain narratively or thematically. If I was kinder to myself I'd have dropped this half the show ago. That's where my mind is at with Sanda.
Minori :(
