I’m watching Geoff’s what to watch for Summer 2019 (even though my own watch list is set in stone I’m just curious about what he’ll say) and that he put Granbelm on that list at all is already weird since those first 2 episodes were vapid as hell but what I learned from him is that Granbelm was written by the same person as A Place Further Than The Universe? How? The quality difference between those two is so fucking colossal! How do you go from something that incredible to something this lacklustre? Maybe I should read this as a good sign that Granbelm’s actually gonna be way better but like, in its first episode Sora Yori was already so unbelievably amazing, why is Granbelm not?

Steel Soul file’s going smoothly by the way. ‘bout 6 hours in, and I’ve made some decent progress. It’s worth mentioning that I am going for 100% so I can get the achievement, and as such, I’ve been playing even more cautiously than one might in a Steel Soul run. I’m at the point in the game where I’ve got the Dream Nail and have access to pretty much every location plus the dash, walljump and super dash, etc. Biggest worry for the entire run is obviously Watcher Knights, and I plan on doing that as late as I possibly can. Trial of the Fool is a concern but that only contributes 1% to the total completion, but since the DLC pushes the total completion up to 112%, I might be able to skip it. Speaking of DLC, dying against NKG doesn’t permakill you in Steel Soul since it’s considered a Dream Boss, but I’m gonna go banishment because Grimm’s fucking hard as shit anyway. My build by the way is the Steel Soul bread and butter, Fragile Heart and Strength - the best charm in the game, Wayward Compass, and whatever else I feel like. I could totally beat Path of Pain on this file, I’ve gotten good enough at that to not really have to worry about death, but those two Kingsmoulds at the end honestly terrify me and Path of Pain doesn’t contribute to completion % so I’m skipping it. Fuck the Radiance, I’m going Sealed Siblings end. I honestly want to put off doing any of the Dreamers because I hate Infected Crossroads, but we’ll see how that works out. The good news is that I can easily practice any bosses I think I’ll struggle with on my 111% file (haven’t beat Pantheon of the Knight oops) which should come in handy against some of my weaknesses. I’m pretty sure most hardcore players don’t expect your first Steel Soul file to be the one you’re victorious in, let alone for 100%, but I want this. If I die it’s gonna fucking suck. I’m totally willing to quit and save scum if I feel endangered enough by the way. This post is unreasonably long.

Sounan Desu Ka episode 3 was funny, which is what this show aims to be, hence, it was a good episode. You know I’ve been really liking watching this show but it’s one of those shows where no single episode gives me anything much to say and that’s annoying.

Sailor Moon episode 18 was pretty good! Wasn’t an “Usagi solves everything while the other Sailor Soldiers are made useless for some reason” episode so I’m relieved. We also got some interesting revelations. Rei is still dragging Mamoru along on dates for example, and Nephrite seems to recognise Mamoru as Tuxedo Mask, so that’s a thing. Speaking of Nephrite, seems Zoisite’s scheming to have Nephrite eliminated or cast into eternal slumber like Jadeite, so maybe Zoisite wants to be in charge of stopping the Sailor Soldiers? We’ll see where that goes. The most interesting revelation though was the fact that Sailor Moon is finally something of a local resident superhero. She saved Resident Super-Chad Shingo way back in like episode 4 or 5 or something so it makes sense that he’d idolise her, but someone from his class also mentions preferring Sailor Moon to Sailor V as well, so that’s pretty interesting. That same classmate also gives Shingo the first ever documented Sailor Moon figurine, and he loves it! Super weird that he doesn’t realise it’s his sister! Also Ami wore her cool glasses again this episode and I was like “hell yeah!” and she also wears like a bandana or something to get into a doll exhibition and she looks absolutely adorable in it, God she’s my favourite character.
