#14 freeway

Vasquez rocks. Parking lot on the far left. The built-up dam-like structure on the left supports the 14 freeway as it descends from Palmdale down to Santa Clarita. San Gabriel mountains in the distance, and Vasquez is part of the Sierra Pelona mountains

5 and 14 freeways interchange in Los Angeles County. Exiting the top of the picture, (to the south) is the 5 freeway. Lanes veering off to the lower left (mostly northbound) are going to/coming from the 14 freeway which originates here. Lanes exiting lower right are heading northwest to Santa Clarita and eventually northern California.

Country of the Canyons indeed

A bit more width. Landfill at upper left, Reservoir at top rightish. Very top in the haze is Los Angeles city and the Hollywood/Santa Monica Hills. While the bulk of the concrete is freeway, there are a couple of roads that pass through this pass as well.

Closer view of the freeway Agua Dulce (Sweet water) is the adjacent town, featuring 2 acre lots, dust, dry farm fields, long horn cattle, defunct wedding venues, horse property, movie properties (meaning locations where you can rent the property and set up and shoot your movie).

A somewhat closer view of the interchange. The buildings and trucks on the left are a trucking firm of some sort, possibly a couple other businesses. We've got dedicated car pool lanes that begin/terminate in the lower left corner by my name. Green sign on left is Balboa Blvd and San Fernando Rd exit southbound.

The 14 Freeway. Offramp (1/2 mile long) swooping over it at the bottom leftish. The 76 Station sign, directly above that stick reaching up to the slightly left of middle is pointing at another new development. Not sure we need a new strip mall, but that's what's going in there.
