either way, passing by edsa has made me spiral into a fucking void.

bad photo angling(?), affordable meals in our favorite hangout place, sentimental conversations with solid people.

The ways you thought your life would shape up to be special might have been false idols.

You are not interesting for your career, your plaques, your framed degrees, your résumé.

You are interesting because you love well. Because you occupy your time. Capitalism makes us feel like any time uncompensated is wasted, but your compensation isn't only measured in signed checks, in abstract direct deposits.

Maybe this is a privileged position. Life at home isn't great, but it isn't the worst life for now.

Who cares if you have a few drinks and smoke a cowboy killer one night a month? Really? Danger lurks around every corner in this life. What are you so afraid of? You've gained enough wisdom now that you won't get in too much trouble.

You won't go too far.

Your fears about what should be should never cloud the beauty of what is.

Sip your drink. Tell her you love her smile, and the way her temple feels under your lips. Text your boys (or your girls). Tell them you love them. Read something.

We didn't choose this life, but we choose how we live it. If you're surviving and being kind, there won't be many true regrets when the time comes.
