Eddie's having a heart to heart with Chris and/or Pepa. It starts to turn towards him never being happier than when he's here (home) and Chris mentions wanting to stay OR Pepa mentions how happy he seems with Buck. But before he gets the chance to stutter out a response the earthquake hits. A bunch of stuff happens (idk these writers aren't predictable anymore) and Buck and Ravi get trapped.

Everyone is freaking out cuz HELLO??? We can't lose anyone else so soon. But Eddie— Eddie is going FERAL. He insists on helping out even though he's not currently a firefighter. And no one and nothing is going to stop him. Any time someone tries to reassure him he says something along the lines of, "He can't... Not now. Not before I—before we..." But he never finishes that thought out loud.

Cut to Buck actively dying, probably bleeding out or something. And he has similar flashbacks to the ones Eddie had when he was in the well. They start with memories of Maddie and the Han family, then the 118, Bobby, and then just a myriad of scenes with Eddie and Chris.

So Ravi makes a half-joke like, "Before we die can you PLEASE admit you're in love with Eddie?" And Buck hesitates, but he actually admits it, not knowing Ravi is holding down the button on his radio. So Eddie hears it while standing next to someone else with a radio. Then he either steals the person's helmet and books it inside OR he grabs the radio and tells Buck to hang on. That he's there and he's not ready to lose him.

Back to Buck, just as he's accepting his fate they find him. Eddie is either the one to drag him out OR he rushes forward to push the person that DID pull him out, out of the way. He goes into full-blown panic mode. He's trying to be medically professional and check his injuries but he can't help but get a little hysterical, tears in his eyes.

Buck makes a half hearted attempt to lighten the mood:

"You can take the man out of the firehouse but you can't take the firefighter out of the man." (double entendre not intended) or "You think you can get rid of me that easily?" And Eddie looks at him with such intensity and leans down to kiss him.

Meanwhile, Athena and Chim have to hash out the awkwardness between them. They have a mini blowout and end up crying and hugging it out. After which, they get told over the radio that Maddie is going into labor. So they double down their efforts to escape.

And they discover Bobby alive and well somehow. There's a dramatic scene of them walking out of the rubble with him. And Buck says something like, "I knew the earthquake was a sign from Bobby!"
