I hate being considered “pretty”
Because people often feel their entitled to give me their comments on how to be “better”
“Oh you’re so pretty, but you just have too many opinions”
“You have such a pretty face; you should leave your hair longer.”
“You are so beautiful, why do you get worked up for so many things”
“You would be even prettier if you smiled more.”
“Such a pretty girl, why do you dress like an old woman?”
“You’re really pretty; you should be nicer so you could have more friends.”
Oh please people, tell me more. Tell me more.
Tell me how I should think. Tell how I should dress. Tell me what I should say. Tell me the person you want me, because I know a single fault of my person is unforgivable and therefore makes me a horrible human. I’m just dying to hear you tell me step by step the person I “should” be.
Maybe I should be outraged, because this of all things is equal, but only for women. No one questions a man way of dressing, communicating, or even behaving, until they get too “feminine”.
As it appears, women have a sign on their necks quoting “constructive criticism needed.”
So please go on, tell me again. How big my smile should be, how loud my voice should be, when and where and what I should speak, tell me how to wear my skirt, what to believe. Tell me, please, how I should walk with my ass high in the air so I can get fucked over easier.
Because that would make me prettier wouldn't it?
