Hey guys. I, uh, talked about writing and finishing a long, long overdue fic for an old 00QRBB challenge, because I sucked, but now I suck slightly less because I finished it! Behold!

Title: Mirrored Heart Rating: M Pairing: James Bond/Vesper Lynd, James Bond & Camille Montes (friendship), James Bond/Q (pre-slash) Summary: In this version of MI6, an agent and a handler are a designated team. It's ultimately what makes their missions successful, but a well-meshed partnership is never a guarantee. Take Agent 7, for example, whose handler relationships always go up in proverbial, and sometimes literal, flames. His rollercoaster of a career has made him jaded and wary, but he is unwilling to give it all up, because he believes that he still has what it takes, what is needed for Queen and Country.

Enters Handler Q.

Q just wants to live his life. To put his past a hacker behind him and try to live a normal life. Then a handsome man with blue eyes grabs him while he's out shopping and his life take a different turn. After that, James Bond keeps interrupting his life until it feels like there is no escaping him. And Q finds that he doesn't want to.

I’m in some serious mood for angsty AU (like, full AU, with magic or space aliens or whatever) and hallelujah there are many choices. I just hope I get what I want because, uh, I definitely ain’t waking up at crack of dawn to claim (I work very late hours so I have very late mornings, but not 5 am late). Nope. Not this year. We’ll have to gamble at emailing. 

Did I mention how excited I am? Because I am. Excited. Yay! 

Six is a military intelligence organization known for its ruthless efficiency. An agent armed with cutting-edge technology and a designated handler - this is the secret recipe for all of Six’s successes. The team is difficult to form initially, but once the right agent is paired with the right handler, they soon become the fear of nations. 

The first time, Agent 7 is paired with a woman with fire in her eyes and napalm in her veins. They become hopelessly attached right away, and the disaster that follows is one for the books.

The second time, Agent 7 is paired with a woman saddled with the burden of revenge and a misaligned agenda. They get on as well as oil and water, and the eventual end is abrupt but wholly expected.  

The third time, Agent 7 is paired with a whip-smart, nameless man with a penchant for arrogance. They don’t quite know what to make of each other, and are still testing the waters when the biggest attack on Six headquarters in its history occurs.

Whoever said ‘third time’s the charm’ is, above all, a consummate liar.

(This fic is my second attempt at a 2018 00QRBB entry, where my ambition left the first one super unfinished. It’s going to be completely different, much shorter, and hopefully written before claiming for 2019 00QRBB starts. My artist deserves a finished product, dammit!)

Why it’s awesome:   A nice exploration of a different first meeting and how their lives spin out afterward. Deserves more love.

A job gone wrong, a blizzard, and a cabin in the middle of nowhere inhabited by one of the most interesting men he'd ever met. Q had no idea what he was getting himself into.
