Hi, questioning median anon who asked abt like, positive me (Hope) possibly become a headmate. How exactly would one overcome the fear of being a system? Like, being a system is really cool, but to me it feels akin to uh, becoming a parent? Despite spending years researching plurality to accurately and non offensively make plural ocs I cried when my now spouse& suggested that I might be plural it can be a difficult thing to prepare for exactly
One thing you should consider is that you won't be taking care of them, from how you described Hope specifically it seems more like Hope will be helping take care of you and she has been in the ways she can currently
It's more like a roommate honestly, you don't have to feed your roommate you expect they'll feed themselves, and if they want to draw they will draw, etc but you still only have to feed one body
Plurality that is formed by "issues" trauma/mental illnesses/something that is difficult to do alone often is to help with whatever that is your one headmate that deals with intrusive thoughts is currently maybe not the most helpful but plenty of systems have intrusive thought holders whose job is to basically keep them from the more vulnerable members and not care about them and are better at accepting that just because the body thought it doesn't mean the body wants to do whatever the thought was might just not be very good at handling them in a healthy way
Hope is basically a soother/caretaker helping you feel better when you are struggling or are unsure of what to do
They might want things, they might not want things, they may want the same things as you, maybe they remember something you used to want but gave up on those are things you really start talking about later into your discovery the beginning is mostly a focus on improving communication
