I know he feels very alone. I don't live near him, and don't know anyone in his life. I think he would benefit from getting to know more people, but his stubborness is legendary. You could ask him how he would feel about talking to someone on this blog. Or maybe suggest some helplines and online chats to him. Some people find it difficult to open up and talk to others. If he really doesn't want to do it then I wouldn't push it.
