To him, despite all the foolishness, reckless and hard-headed personality, she is a beauty that transcends everything in his life. When she comes to the shrine, her personalities swept him away. And then came that mountain lily -  a noble flower (Couldn’t remember the chapter). I think that’s like the most symbolic representation of Nanami.

Mikage is symbolic to a butterfly. I thought it is ironic that both of the important persons in Tomoe’s life are somehow symbolized by subjects that are strongly connected to each other.
