henyway I don’t think Hollis and Max actually attempt dating each other until a number of months after the end of the game. I think it’s a lot of flirting and maybe some pining, and some almost-encounters, but the plot always gets in the way somehow and the Colony’s gotta be saved.
Maybe one or the other, or both, feel kinda guilty trying to make something happen in their personal life while the world’s barely holding together. Or maybe they don’t trust their feelings, are they real or are they a reaction to almost dying, and they don’t want to die alone?
Hollis is gonna be busy pulling strings through The Chairman, trying to make sure people don’t starve, plus figuring out where and how she fits in this new world. Brokering and facilitating talks and compromises, shuttling around goods, making sure baby gays get to their dates on time and in style, etc.
Max, with his newfound spiritual outlook, needs to shake some of the shine off of himself. He’s got a new way of looking at things, things he’s figuring out, and work he wants to do that requires a lot of personal focus.
Maybe fate (aka Me) throws them back together again in some contrived manner and they’re both like “oh...”
