Once he's out of view, he brandishes his knife. It isn't like he is hiding his ways from her. No – to his core, this is who he is. Not an assassin or a hitman, but a man who does a job when it needs to be done. It had been this way since he was young ; he had been a child when his hands were first stained with blood.

Soon enough, he spots his target. Pitiful man. He wouldn't see it coming. Not until it was too late. And the act is quick ; the man turns around after sensing a presence. His eyes grow wide. ( The reaper approaches – his number is up. There is silent understanding of unpaid debt. Not to Alexi – but to a valuable informant of his. So he would do what must be done, as always. )

The man reaches for his own blade, but he is not quick enough. Alexi drives his knife into the center of his prey's chest, pushing it upwards and twisting it. He lets out a groan and slumps to the ground. Dead. Alexi's expression remains unchanged, and he pulls the knife from the man's chest. He uses the corpse's shirt as a rag ; blood smears over dirtied linen. He'll clean his knife up later.

One task done – and now he has another. Get back to Accalia, and get her 'home,' if she could call it that. To the room he graciously lent her.

Just a bit of a mash-up of some of my favorite panels so far. Currently working on fleshing out chapter 3 and some following chapters, and just generally setting up pages & story before I actually go on to finalize the pages, so everything is super rough rn.--}

Scattered incidents of strange, unsolved homicides have sprung up all across the country over the last several years, each with the word "Murder" carved into the corpse with an odd looking "M". One such case occurs in the inner city where Detective Lance Maverick and his team work, where they're called to investigate half of a human corpse left in an alleyway. As Detective Maverick starts trying to piece together a pattern and reason behind the brutality and learn the culprit, he crosses paths with a suspicious young man who seems like he may hold the answers to solving the crime that Maverick seeks. Answers which will reveal the world in which he lives is not at all what Maverick thinks it is.

I'm getting tired of seeing posts circulating all the time that act as if the poster isn't somehow also a part of this community. "Rp isn't what it used to be", "everyone focuses on gifs and icons and aesthetics", "the more popular groups just---", "I switched to discord because---". You are a part of this community. If you participate in roleplay on tumblr you are as equally responsible for it's culture as someone else you deem more "popular" than you.

I've been on Tumblr for over ten years now across multiple blogs. I've seen trends, trendsetters, fandoms, and aesthetics all rise and fall. I've even fallen victim to the very mindset above that plagues this website. There is an old saying though that I've always kept true to my heart; you control who and what you see on Tumblr.

If you're struggling to find people that want to roleplay, that aren't toxic, that focus on the stories being told -- maybe you need to check and see what kind of culture and environment you've designed for yourself and what sort of culture and environment you're inviting your partners into.

A community is not created by a single person and it is not defined by a single trend. We collectively and individually have the power to make that change. If all we keep doing is circulating posts complaining about the problems but never take the very simple steps forward to change them then maybe you're right, maybe Tumblr isn't for you.
