Yaaaay I'm so happy for you marshmallow :)) getting disability services to do stuffy for you is such a mental hurdle sometimes that some people just suffer instead :< I'm glad that you made it and that you're going to be feeling better ♥️
Hey, different anon from the one about Antigone. The Red Rising author had a ton of holes in that interview, and I wanted to give my two cents. Antigone wasn't fragile by any means. Her resolve is steadfast and she even defies her uncle by claiming that his authority means nothing to her, she answers to the gods only. If the author was so desperate to explore "unanswered questions" she should have just done Antigone's sister, the only sibling left alive in the play. 1/2
Also, Antigone had a lover, who died at the end of the show. I have a thing for Greek Theatre, since I've studied it so much, and that interview rubbed me the wrong way. 2/2
Other Antigone anon who sent the two part message, I'm sorry! I meant to type "he" instead of "she" for the author! Was typing on my phone and my fingers slipped!
yeah, they’re good points! I’m just willing to give the author a pass merely because Antigone just seemed to serve as inspiration to create Eo, and with the books, he didn’t really intend to retell the play.
Eo isn’t really presented as frail (she’s very stubborn, passionate and determined), although the author has a tendency to romanticise things which probably gives people that impression (Eo, Virginia and Cassius are super romanticised in Red Rising). If anything, Virginia was the female character I was really upset about, but she’s given a (very welcome) character overhaul in Golden Son aka red Rising 2.
Eo’s sister... Dio the Reaper... now that’s a concept 😌 not problematic too.
also, trust me - the Antigone part in the book is very small really. I’m just set on reading it because I want to learn everything about Eo I possibly can because I’m obsessed with her for unknown reasons.

TERFs can eat shit and die 🤗

overheard a guy passing by me say "other than science, economics is really the most difficult major" and i spent the rest of my walk home fuming and having a one sided imaginary debate about why he's wrong, how's everyone else's evenings?
This is so real 😭😭😭
