@snackatlas I’M STILL LIKE HOLY FUCK THEY REALLY ACTUALLY FUCKING DID IT!!! It always felt simultaneously possible and impossible because Sora’s been one of the most requested characters since like forever but at the same time, like, would Didney ever allow this???

And then we got Cloud and it was like OKAY, so we know Squeenix would be down! But there’s still Didney and also, uuuhhh, wow, would people want yet another sword-wielding anime boy?

And just, OMG. Seeing Mario step off his platform and the platform disappearing into sparkles? (XD Mind you, I was literally at work, watching a live reaction on my phone of a Twitch streamer I watch, so I’m alternating between working and looking at my phone screen.) And with that intro, people were going “Dark Souls? Dark Souls? Is it Dark Souls?” But then Mario reaches into the fire, clasps his hand around something, and then yeets this spinning, on-fire thing into the darkness. A sword? Is it a sword?

The flames burst. It’s definitely some sort of sword-like or similar weapon… but wait, that shape is… kinda familiar… ಠ_ಠ No way. There’s no way it’s… Could it be-?

Simple and Clean Orchestra version starts playing… I nearly started crying (that version always punches me in the face with emotion), I was definitely tearing up. If I were at home, I probably would’ve started actually screaming out loud instead of internally and in Twitch chat.

Words cannot express how beautiful this entrance is. The whole sequence of his reveal. There’s a thread I retweeted (that Tumblr mobile won’t let me paste the link to ffs) on Twitter about, from a Smash lore standpoint, the significance of Sora’s entrance, from someone who doesn’t even play KH but still felt emotional over this reveal.

Sephiroth’s entrance was epic, dramatic af, cool in a way 8ish-yr-old me back in 1997ish would be in awe over. Sora’s made me emotional and nostalgic. In those few minutes of Sora’s reveal trailer, I was 13-14 again, playing KH for the first time.

XD Oop, sorry for the rant. I’ve played every Smash since the first one on the N64, so even though I’m by no means a pro, it’s another series I’ve loved for a long time.

Oh one last thing, I totally almost started crying again when Sora shook Mario’s hand. ;3;
