Growing up, Mick Walton had been reminded every day that she was born for one reason only: to save her sister’s life.

Fifteen years ago, Kaylein climbed into her parents bed as she usually did after waking from a nightmare only to find the sheets drenched in their blood. She managed to escape her uncles clutches before he could ensure that she met the same gruesome fate that he bestowed upon her parents. Kaylein fled her home planet on a traders ship, but she was left with a scar to serve as a daily reminder of what happened that night. With her uncle Terryn in power and all of her parent’s allies dead, she knew going back wasn’t an option. But Terryn couldn’t just let her slip through his fingers. He put a sizable bounty on his niece in hopes of eliminating the last of his competition for the throne of Hexam. 

For years, Kaylein was able to successfully live under the radar with the help of her scar, darkened hair, and a new name. Her luck eventually ran out when she was found by a member of an infamous bounty hunters Guild. With nothing more than a few units to her name, she used the truth about what her uncle had done to plead for her life. Much to her surprise, it was enough to garner the sympathy of the Mandalorian and he agreed to help her evade the other bounty hunters searching for her. They soon found out that they had more in common than an orphaned princess and a bounty hunter should, leading the Mandalorian to offer her a spot on his crew. 

Together, Dyn and Kal become one of the most efficient and sought after bounty hunter teams in the Outer Rim. So, when they’re approached for an under-the-table commission with a large down payment and an even bigger payout, they don’t hesitate to accept. Resistance is part of the job, it’s to be expected. However, what they never expected was that the supposed fifty-year-old target was actually just a child.

Future Fic :: Lifeblood • Brynn Parker •

From stopping small-time robberies to helping the Avengers settle an internal dispute, the Parker twins did it all together. That pattern doesn’t change when a new line of high-tech alien weapons appear on the streets of New York, threatening the safety of their neighborhood. Brynn and Peter jump at the chance to prove themselves in the eyes of the heroes they always idolized, but it doesn’t take long for Brynn to realize they may be getting in over their heads. 

With Tony Stark watching their every move and the fallout from the Sokovia Accords argument lingering in the back of her mind, she knows they’re walking on a very dangerous line between failure and success. As she stared at the ceiling, hoping to fall asleep before the sun came up, Christian liked to imagine that they were like explorers purposely sent by their parents to discover this new universe. She’d dream about the day her mom and dad and the rest of their old world would follow them to their new home and they’d be able to go back to the way things were. All they had to do was survive until then.

Unfortunately, her imagination was just that. Her imagination. Truthfully, no one knew exactly where they were or if they’d ever be able to go home. The thing that remained the same was the survival part. In theory, it seemed easy enough. Eat, sleep, wake up, and do it all over again. It took all of two days for Chris and the rest of their new town to realize just how much the adults in their life did for them. 

Without their parents there to provide for them and protect them, the question of who would step into that role quickly arose. Chris wasn’t surprised when it ended up being her adoptive sister. She believed that as long as Cassandra was there to help them through it, they’d all be okay. They’d find a way to survive just like she’d imagined and maybe one day their parents really would come for them.
