patton timeloop scenario where he's constantly repeating the same week. the week starts out nice and normal, healthy, even, everyone's doing well and Thomas is happy, until at the end of the week, something awful happens. They discuss, argue, fight, say some horrible things to one another, and at the end of that final day... zap. reset. blue skies and birdsong.
at first Patton tries to push Thomas towards actions that might avoid the Awful Thing. Cause who wouldn't, with a second chance - and maybe that'll end the loop too? but unfortunately, he fails. and fails. and fails. whatever he tries, the week ends in disaster.
so, slowly, his goal shifts: from trying to break the timeloop, to trying to... not? break it? if he can't prevent the Awful Thing from happening, at least this way he can spare everyone (except for himself) the fall-out. and sure, they'll never change beyond this moment, never grow or learn anything new, always staying the same forever... but, be honest. Is that really so bad?
