Despite everything? Mikhail.  He’s hiding things from her, clearly. But he’s never lied, not yet. And being the only family she has left, not to mention someone she grew up with, it’s difficult for her to place doubt on him even when he’s giving her every reason to.

Iffrita sucks in a soft breath now that they had broken apart , face flushed and heart beating against her ribcage - They had done this a handful of times now but it was still something new for her and it tended to leave her full of nerves and butterflies.

This time was much the same , except ; He’d gone and said something particularly . . Corny. Her mouth stiffens in an attempt not to crack into a smile , it would only encourage him - But , maybe that was okay because even if it felt to be entirely inappropriate for the circumstances , she didn’t feel nervous anymore.

The traveler resigns herself , allowing a small smile to break through onto her face as she shakes her head back and forth. Iffrita leans back in after this , tone gentle.

“ . . Please don’t go starting any fights or wars over something so silly. ” Unnecessary advice , perhaps , but knowing what she knew about Childe . . He would do something like that just for fun. So , if he was in any way serious about what he was saying now then she’d need to start warning him of the consequences that would come with engaging in unneeded brawls.

That aside , the realization hits her in it’s usual fashionably late way. It wasn’t the first time that romantic affection had been implied , especially since she was nearly certain that whatever feelings were happening between them were mutual but - It was one of the first times it had been so outwardly stated. 

She wasn’t looking his way to begin with and now makes the conscious effort not to , face gradually heating until she can feel her ears burning. Clearing her throat , the Noah’s voice becomes hushed.

Ritsuka is terrified and has been convinced from a young age that she has no choice but to welcome the terrible things that are coming. She’s long since accepted what’s coming for her , but it’s difficult not to be hopeful when she’s finally escaped the life she thought she could never escape and has people who genuinely . . Seem to care for her. And as comforting as that is , it also terrifies her. It was much easier to live and let die when she knew she didn’t have to worry about anyone else - And no one had to worry about her.

I/ffrita is worried about the future. For a long time she thought she knew exactly what would happen and she was looking forward to finally finding the right place to settle and build a new home with Mikhail in. But , that didn’t happen. The entire plan that they had both agreed to has gone up in flames. They’re stuck in a world they didn’t choose to stay in , Mikhail was missing (and she found him!) But he turned her away and has obviously found his own purpose outside of her , and now she’s . . Alone , confused , and has no idea what to do anymore. The uncertainty of the future scares her and she’s hesitant to welcome it in.
