There were a lot of things Lorelei had been planning on doing that day. Practicing her solo routines, getting in a quick class at the dance studio, grocery shopping, laundry, checking in on a few people, a business lunch. Picking up a drunk Caroline from the rink that evening wasn’t on her list.
With her phone securely in her cup holder to ensure she would not ever make the mistake of texting while driving (yes, she had seen that one episode of Glee), Lore made the quick journey to the rink. Pulling up to the very front, she didn’t even bother to glance around for Caroline before she was calling her, prepared to keep calling her until it was clear that the mysterious Mercedes-Benz was her.
...it would probably help if she rolled down her window. Just so the girl could be double sure she wasn’t about to be kidnapped. Doing so, she spotted Caroline immediately and reached over to toss open the passenger-side door.
“Get in.”

Lore was already having a day by the time she’d made it to Deja Brew that afternoon. From her car not starting to the fact that Marilynn had went in on her for some apparently sloppy arm work, she had been planning on just grabbing her dark chocolate mocha and heading right back to the rink to skate out her frustrations.
That specific plan needed adjusting, however, when she looked down at the table nearest to where she had planted herself as she waited for her beverage. There, underneath a crumpled napkin and a left behind half-eaten scone (how people didn’t clean up after themselves, she’d never understand) was clearly a credit card. And considering how there hadn’t been any indication that the owner was still in the building, it appeared to be lost.
Glancing around for the first worker who wasn’t currently occupied, Lore grabbed the card and turned to face… Caroline Evergreen. Little Snow who was all grown up with a job and everything.
“Hey,” she started, making sure she alerted the girl to her presence before she continued. “I think that someone dropped this. I’m not sure if you have a lost and found or not.”
