“Um… thank you?” She doesn’t even know what to say in this situation

But it felt so nice so she just lives in the moment.

“—– Venous snakes would like to differ, even in death they can extract their vengeance.”   He offers her a cheeky grin, reclining against the cold, tiled wall of the room. Wasn’t he just the angelic picture of perfection. Never the one to let things go.  “I mean at least there is some validity to your statement.”  He points to the cadaver laying peacefully atop the nearby surface. “He won’t be getting up anytime soon - saves you from the monotony of boring conversation.”

Whatever is meant by her words is LOST on him as his face scrunches up in confusion, arms crossed as his brow furrows. “ or is it that it is associated with god fearing individuals seeking salvation?” He keeps digging at whatever hole he has dug for himself, attempting to make sense of it all. Perhaps she had meant it as a statement akin to that of her being tired. It was late into the night , but that is just how it went. His work never truly ended did it? And as each hour passed by his humor and any level of jovial attitude he had earlier had long ago vanished.
