i. · · They were young, he was eight and he nine, yet both cruel and conniving beyond their years. They had only known each other for a year, and by the loosest terms they may have been classified as rivals, although Tom thought of her more as an enemy. Their similar personalities and desire to dominate others often led to duels of wit or schemes to prove their superiority over the other. His most recent retaliation had not exactly been his most diabolic, but it had been highly amusing watching China’s reactions as she realized many books and trinkets from her room had been scattered around the manor. ·It was this same day that Tom discovered how cruel China could be. . That night China barged into his room, flinging the door-open so dramatically that it hit his bedroom wall with a crack. Despite having seen her frustrated and annoyed on several occasions this had been the first time he had seen China angry, her face was contorted into a stone-like expression but her flared in her eyes. For a moment he thought she would resort to a muggles revenge. Instead, she strode towards where he sat on the bed, and before he had time to react she ·clasped both hands onto his arms and pulled him towards her so that there lips collided. Their teeth clanked together and momentarily shocked by the sudden change in behavior Tom found himself unable to move. He takes no note of how it feels to have her lips against his, because he is to focused on the true motive behind her actions. To render him powerless, to have him at her complete mercy. Finally, she pulls back, all anger had dissipated and was replaced with a self satisfied smirk, pleased that the kiss had its desired effect.
“ Your turn, Tommy. ” She gave his cheek a condescending pat and left him to stew in his newly found hatred.
