Originally inspired by the multifandom exchange Battleship, MCYT Battleship has teams working together to clear bingo-style boards of tag and tropes by posting fanwork gifts that use those tags, and beating word count bosses by creating enough longer or more complex works. Writers, Artists, Podficcers, and Web Weavers are all welcome, and you can join on either an all ages team (open to everyone) or 18 plus team (adults only, can post e-rated work). Love to write fluffy family dynamic? We need people to hit those fluff tags when they come up. Your wheelhouse is closer to an Iron Lung AU? You can opt into e-rated gore in the 18 plus collection, and people do do that. You love writing short? Our minimum word count is 300 words. You're not the speediest of creators? People who can deliver a gift in the final round, two and a half weeks in, are pivotal for team morale.

Want to write RPF? It's an allowable fandom. You love a fandom that's brand new? You don't need a canon fandom tag to join. Yuri warrior? F/F is a goal that needs to be hit. Want to stick to family friendly? In the all ages teams all content needs to be sfw. Love angst? Major Character Death is a goal that needs to be hit. Want to be distinctly not family friendly? The 18 plus collections have their own assortment of tags to hit, including roughly half nsfw tags.

Whether you create for a fandom with thousands of works in the tag or if you are the only person posting for an obscure non-english MCYT series— you are welcome! Come join us.

Writers, start your engines—it's time to start creating!

This year AUfest is a mini-bang, with writers writing complete works of 5k or more, and artists making art pieces to accompany your work. The signup process is simple—writers show the mods they have a half draft during the writer signup period (June 13 - 17) to be entered into claims, and artists put their names in for short lists of works they're interested in during the artist claim period (June 20-21). Mods make teams, and then teams work together for the final half of the event before we all post together.

Wanting to put Tinarose in an arranged marriage? Come on down. Pomme and Sunny are going on an adventure? Join us. Still not over the Copper King's vigil? You are welcome. You need to put the Nosy Neighbours in space? A fantastic thing to do. You want Infernus to take over the world? Who doesn't. Slimeknight need to experience more horrors and you are just the person to do it? Come sprint with us. Shan urban fantasy draft burning to get down on paper? You know an artist can't wait to illustrate that. Flamefrags mafia au sending you visions? You deserve to make that a reality. Joeleo gladiator heist needs to be written? We agree.
