This is what life gives her for not having a plan. She could swear she's usually better at thinking ahead, but she can't actually point to the last time that was true. Was she thinking ahead when she was floating through life from party to party? Or when she agreed to be a fiancee? Or when she cut her family vacation short and ditched France without telling a soul? Or... when she'd stupidly left her hotel room earlier this evening without charging her damn phone... Now, she's standing outside under a glowing streetlight on her very first night on the island having used up all her battery ordering the dinner she's just come from and calling her father to try to explain that she just needs time away. With no phone, she has no immediate sense of how to get back to her hotel, and it's the straw that breaks the camels back, making panic swell in her chest. This is what her awful planning gets her. "No, no, no..." Shae whines, tapping the screen aggressively like that would bring it back to life. "Shit," she breathes, running a hand through her long curls, trying to remember which way her hotel was— does she even remember the name? God, the last day of travel had been anything but smooth, and this is the very last thing she needs right now.
