“Why?” Daniel asked, turning his head to look at Jace from his spot on the bed. He assumed that Jace had been keeping busy with his various partners - or partner? Was he seeing anyone aside from Calliope and him? He never really thought to ask because he didn’t want to give the wrong impression. “Ain’t nothing special bout me, if anything I’d think you’d like the time away since all I’ve been doing is working on tracking down some people about my sister. Don’t tell me you’re getting sappy now.”

Daniel was under a car working, which was no surprise as it kept his mind occupied and off his sister for a short while. Gave him money to eat and pay for the shitty apartment he’d found to live in where the landlord didn’t ask questions. Seeing someone’s feet enter the garage, he cleared his throat and pushed out from under the car. “Welcome in, what can I do for you?”

“You know I’m not staying in this country right? I’m just here to find out what happened to my sister.” Or who killed his sister that was. Daniel didn’t come here looking for anything aside from that. He enjoyed the other’s company, he enjoyed having someone to talk to but he couldn’t do anything serious and he just wanted to get that across to the other. “Just don’t get too attached.”

“You realize, you’re better off just getting a new car right?” He asked before taking a bite of his burger, leaning against the other’s car hood. “As old as this car is and the money it’s going to cost to fix it, it seems like a better idea but that’s just me. Even with the friends discount it’s still a doozy. Hey, hand me some more fries would you?”
