Like yeah sure Bolaire's a mask but he's also really obviously a fucking person, like Thjazi met him at his brother's *house*, he saw that they were *friends*, and Thjazi *knew* he wasn't a danger to Hal or the kids or he would've told Hal about it.
But he found out this secret little bit of leverage and used it to ruin this man's life.
The parallels to using the threat of outing as blackmail are making me so. fucking. mad.
the result of Thjazi's actions is basically Bolaire being forced to bare *everything* to these people in order to regain some modicum of trust.
HE EVEN TOOK HIS WIG OFF.
God I'm so fucking mad at Thjazi.
Hell I'm fucking mad at Hal. What do you mean "ohhhh I want to trust you," bitch your fucking brother, who wouldn't have ever known about Bolaire *except they met at your house,* basically tortured the guy for years and made every interaction with you painful for him.
yeah bolaire said he was hoping to tell hal who he was, but thjazi both forced him *not to* because he didn't wanna lose his blackmail material, then forced him to do so by sending that letter.
It turned what could have been a gesture of trust and intimacy into a fucking *interrogation*.
(DISCLAIMER because this is the piss in the poor website: this is NOT criticism, obviously these are intentional character choices and I expect it will be addressed in more detail when the Seeker/Schemers table next sits. Hal went in a bit tough but as the scene went on and he began to understand the position Bolaire had been placed in he started looking upset, guilty and conflicted, and Azune's upset was so clear, especially when Bolaire thought Azune wanting to get close to him was a hostile thing and he started to sound scared, and there was a moment Hal looked at Azune and Azune shook his head, like I know you told me to be on guard but no.)
