MICHAEL’S NOT A SOB STORY KIND OF GUY. he’s not a happy ending guy, either. so when his life kinda improves - well, he doesn’t know what the fuck to do about it. he and amanda are getting along like they did when they were young, tracey got into college, and he spends more time with his son. life is better now - but it doesn’t mean michael doesn’t have some shit to apologize for, still.
DOCTOR FRIEDLANDER SAYS HE SHOULD let go of his past mistakes, and this is one bullshit way of doing that. he searches for forgiveness through materialistic things, because he doesn’t know what else to do. the only thing he’s seen people understand in life is money - hell, it’s all he knows himself. and he has plenty, now, so he’ll try to use it to mend his family back together. michael leaves a key to a 2018 mercedes-benz g-class on jimmy’s desk - it seems like his kind of car, and michael owes him a new one. if it’s brought up at all, michael will just brush it off, joking that jimmy doesn’t have to worry about remembering to pay for this one ( the big score gave michael a bit of pocket change ) . in reality, he’s just glad they’re able to feel like a family, for what may be the first time in a decade.
